The Chan Academy* extends an invitation to you to learn the tradition of sumi-e painting with internationally recognised Master Andre Sollier.

Sumi-e is an ancient form of meditation practice, a method for the mind to develop great concentration, happiness and peace.

Master Sollier has taught Sumi-e painting at the Chan Academy in Upwey for many years. Each year the teacher selects an appropriate theme for students to practice. For this year's program Master Sollier has created a series of ten paintings titled 'Ten Chan Masters', a copy of which is provided to each student.

Each painting has been created in ink on rice paper, and includes important explanatory notes, such as the name of the Chan Master, when he lived, and the country in which he taught.

The paintings can be viewed on www.buyresolved.com.au or the Buddha Dhyana Dana Review Vol. 12 No. 1 at www.bddronline.net.au

The Chan Academy's Year 2002 Program of ten Sumi-e painting classes are scheduled on Saturdays from March to December from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Classes are limited to six places. Master Sollier is assisted by student Jan Bennett.

Experience the many benefits of these rare and ancient teachings for yourself by enrolling in the Chan Academy's Sumi-e painting classes. Please complete the attached Registration Form and forward it with your payment to:
